FAQ

What is a collagen puck?
A Crema puck is a compressed disc of hydrolyzed collagen peptides — a protein supplement in solid form. Drop it into an empty mug before your coffee, pour hot liquid over it, and it dissolves instantly. No powder mess, no shaker required.
Will it change the taste of my coffee?
Revive and most SKUs are unflavored or mildly flavored. They add a slight smoothness to the mouthfeel but don't alter the coffee experience. Spice adds a warm canela and cardamom note. Rest and Focus have no perceptible flavor change.
Does the order matter — puck first or coffee first?
Yes — always place the puck in an empty mug first, then pour hot coffee over it. Adding the puck to coffee that's already in the cup can result in incomplete dissolution. Puck first, always.
What's the difference between the five SKUs?
Every SKU delivers 20g of hydrolyzed collagen peptides. The difference is the functional add-in: Revive is pure collagen. Immune adds zinc, D3, and beta-glucan. Focus adds L-theanine. Rest adds magnesium glycinate for evening use. Spice adds canela cinnamon and cardamom for flavor and metabolic support.
Is 20g of collagen really that different from what's in other products?
Yes. Most collagen creamers on the market deliver 2–5g per serving. Published research demonstrating effects on skin elasticity, joint comfort, and recovery uses doses of 10–20g. At 20g, Crema meets or exceeds those ranges in a single serving. Lower-dose products may not deliver meaningful results.

Does collagen actually help with joint pain?
The evidence is meaningful. Multiple meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials find collagen supplementation produces significant reductions in joint pain and improvements in physical function compared to placebo in osteoarthritis patients.

What is propylene glycol, and why is it in the puck?
Propylene glycol (PG) is a food-grade humectant used as the binder in the puck-forming process. It holds the disc together under pressure and shelf conditions, then releases cleanly when hot coffee is poured over it — which is why the puck dissolves so completely with no stirring.

PG is classified by the FDA as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) under 21 CFR 184.1666 and is widely used in foods, medications, and cosmetics. It is colorless, odorless, and flavorless. It appears on the supplement facts panel as "Other Ingredients: Propylene Glycol (Humectant)." We list it prominently because honest labeling matters more to us than an ingredient list that looks cleaner than it is.

For reference: NIH/ATSDR toxicological profile — oral exposure to amounts found in food is unlikely to cause toxic effects.
Where is Crema made?
Crema pucks are manufactured by Java Holdings LLC at 527 Third Street, Libertyville, IL 60048 — the same facility where we've been roasting coffee since 1996.
Is it safe to take daily?
Hydrolyzed collagen peptides have a well-established safety record at 10–20g/day, with minimal side effects reported in long-term clinical data. As with any supplement, consult your healthcare provider if you have kidney disease, liver conditions, are pregnant, or have known sensitivities. Collagen is bovine-derived — not suitable for vegans or those avoiding animal products.
